Gaia In Ecstacy: A Total Eclipse of the Mind
Vega: Anticipatience
While it may not be immediately apparent upon first glance at these portraits of my wife Aloria Weaver, there is a deeply woven story of the possibility of the extraterrestrial origins of humankind embedded within their connected mythos…
EUROPA, DREAMING the FUTURE
Romantic counterpart and one of many moons to orbit Jupiter, Europa knows much that has yet to be revealed. A telling inner smile of things to come indicates unimaginable horizons for humanity and all life. Gliding around the largest planet in the solar system, Europa is unique as a celestial body, for her surface is covered with thick ice, providing a crucial rarity, water as an essential element for life. The film, 2010 The Year We Make Contact, is set in the proximity of Europa, where an unprecedented celestial event takes place, forever evolving the face of humanity. This painting synchronizes the theme with the artist’s first voyage to Europe in the summer of 2010, to make contact with visionary artist lineage.
LUNA, PRAYING FOR EARTH
Our nearest celestial neighbor, the moon, offers the deep wisdom of reflection. While she radiates no light of her own, her quiet introspection illuminates a more subtle layer of consciousness. Luna sees us as we are in the darkest spaces of solitude, to the deep recesses of our being. As such, she has great awareness of our shadow aspects, finding the compassion to engage in endless prayer for planetary awakening. The moon was painted on the night of NASA’s controversial LCross moon bombing in 2009, as a prayer that all beings may find true peace.
GAIA IN ECSTACY: A TOTAL ECLIPSE of the MIND
Throughout the ages upon planet earth, or Gaia, the phenomenon of the eclipse has deeply permeated the human and animal psyche. The darkening of the sun prompted acknowledgment of new cycles of death and rebirth, and with the return of light brought with it new understanding of our perfection within the unceasing tides of evolution. The total eclipse of the mind represents a renewal of inner understanding, in which the eyes are slightly open to let in the joyous light, yet focusing the attention of the evolutionary principle to the center of the forehead, or third eye. In ancient traditions worldwide, the third eye represents the illumination of clear vision, or a spiritually awakened being, unbound to the constraints of the material world.
VEGA : ANTICIPATIENCE
Vega, brightest star in the constellation Lyra, summons all the patience she can find to endure the wait until her next rise in the sky. From Earth, Vega is our polestar in cycles of 25,000 years. Many stars fill this role throughout this planetary axial rotation, and sometimes, no star at all. In these celestial lifetimes, Vega’s return to glory will occur in the blink of an eye, while for us this means another 12,000 years. Dreaming of her throne of adoration in center sky, she is known
in ancient Japanese myth as Princess Weaving Star, due to her wavering course through the sky.
Further Selections from the Celestial Muse Series:
AURORA

Dancing on the brilliant skies of the arctic, this spectral gift of light has intrigued all who have seen her. She is the mystical bridge to unseen worlds, an etheric expression of delight in the depths of empathy. Her message is of fleeting joy, for the temporary nature of life. Through the focus of attention, presence in each moment allows for the experience of infinite lifetimes to blossom, unconstrained by linear time. By coming to know herself, she becomes aware of her origin, and gains access to the mind of the universe, painting upon the blank ice of the poles.
UNICORN NEBULA

Inspiration gives birth to new worlds, as an awakened vision through which to create reality. Imagination is the gift of the unicorn, in this painting symbolized as a nebula, or star-birthing region of outer space. This is the place of creation, as quantum streams of energy coalesce and spark stars into being, the fertile crescent of creativity.
EQUINOX

The exact balancing point between the light and dark, symbolizing the rising and the setting sun. Taoist tradition describes the Way in which balance among the diverse and polar elements is the ideal path. Stillness in the self expands the ability to create harmonic relationships and balance in life. Looking to nature as a model of perfection and balance, we find systems of reciprocity and exchange, leaving no waste or remainder. Equinox unifies polarities and neutralizes opposing forces, revealing wholeness.
IRIS

Mythical name of possibly the most culturally significant atmospheric phenomenon on the planet, this embodiment of the rainbow has intrigued every human being, from child to scholar, from romantic to mystic. Iris dwells in the luminous realm of perception. It is from this root that the iris of our eye is aptly named, for it is our portal to light. Inhabiting a liminal cloud realm between dimensions, her presence poises only upon the most delicate and perfect of conditions.
