BIOGRAPHY
A lifelong artist, David Heskin began oil painting in 1995. His first 15 years with oils were self-guided, after which time he sought out artistic techniques that are on the brink of being lost. After a decade of studies in numerous traditional artistic lineages, his original artwork and teaching have become integrated expressions of this creative fusion.
David’s art defies categorization, as he has produced extensive bodies of work in a variety of styles and mediums. Combining tradition and innovation, his driving aspiration is to create artifacts and visual experiences that are otherwise unavailable to the human eye, and that speak to the journey of the soul.
David earned his Master’s Degree in Traditional Arts from The Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts in 2020. In a long-term collaboration with his wife, artist Aloria Weaver, he develops and teaches international, technique-driven painting courses. His work has been exhibited in museums, galleries, cultural centers and theaters, and is held in private collections throughout North America, Europe and beyond.
STATEMENT
“I look to the beauty of the natural world for inspiration, in its infinitely subtle and intricate patterns. Forms in nature become syllables in a secret lexicon of consciousness at every scale.
From this diversity of phenomenal lifeforms, Art emerges.
It is the responsibility of the living artist to look inward, then forward..and inward again.
If Art is to be a fulfillment of an ongoing renaissance in this vast cosmology, its presence must deliver a vision which will continue to inspire the advancements of personal and cultural evolution.
It is the necessity of the emerging movements to build authentic bridges,
from our ancient traditions to a brilliant future,
upon the strength of our determination to envision the possibilities.”
